The pinnacle of one’s career is to be recognized as a professional. To be awarded the title of “professional” or “chartered” by an esteem or recognized body, is the ultimate recognition of excellence in one’s profession. A professional will then be referred to, or consulted as an expert in their particular industry or profession. The title is a testimony that the person is a competent and capable person, in their profession. It testifies that the person has the necessary knowledge, appropriate skills, the right attitude as well as be able to communicate and lead effectively. The title in other words is the benchmark to gauge the value of a person’s ability to the organization or industry. The wider the recognition is geographically, the higher is its value and significance. In other words, if we get the status from an internationally accepted body, we are then able to benchmark our professional standards, as best amongst the best, globally.
